Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American singer, actress and music producer. When she was a kid she was subjected to racial taunts by a lot of Americans. The confidence started to build in the ninth grade when she appeared in an audition. She received a lot of praise for her performance. Not only did it boost her confidence but her dreams were changed. When she was 22, she graduated from the New York's Julliard School. In 1993 she had her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was titled You've got Mail. Her biggest break came with her performance as The Lady of The Lake, in the original Broadway version of Spamalot. The show won her the Tony Award and received great praise for the performance. The following year, she appeared as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy for ABC the show, she received more appreciation. A well-known performer, she has also recorded a song and a play. Also, she's an activist and is a tireless advocate for LGBT rights.
